Hermitage Rehab honoured 550 recovering drug addicts

The Hermitage Rehab honored 550 recovering addicts on the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The patients and their families attended the event.
After attending a religious ceremony, the recovering addicts shared their experiences in the path to recovery.
Several renowned figures and many dignitaries from the city attended the event. They advised the youngsters not to do any drug abuse to appear cool in their friend circle.
One of the guest speakers discussed that social status is a crucial factor for youngsters. Without it, they feel the society will not accept them. To gain social status, most will drink alcohol, which is a form of abuse.
Col Pradeep Jwanda(retd) shared his story. He said: “My wife Baljit Jwanda and Dr. JPS Bhatia played a crucial role in helping me to come out of the disease of addiction. I had to fight a battle with addiction to alcohol after I retired from my services.”
Sharing his journey of helping drug addicts overcome the disease, Dr. JPS Bhatia said, “It is a privilege to utilize the concept of a human being as elaborated by Guru Nanak Dev Ji for treatment and recovery in The Hermitage Rehab Center. Our particular approach to understanding the teachings of the Guru Sahib has enabled us to impact many patients positively.”
